Press Release Summary = A canoe or kayak trip can be fun. The key is in proper
planning.
Press Release Body = When you are ready to plan your next canoe trip, from floating
down the river to a week of camping in the back woods, there are a few things that
you should remember and keep with you at all times. See
http://www.kayakcanoetimes.com Here are some helpful tips for your next Canoe or
Kayak trip.
1. Life jackets for everyone on the canoe. It doesn't matter if you can swim or
not, or how deep the water is, there should always be a life jacket for everyone on
the boat with you at all times. In case of flash flooding, undercurrents, or
someone who can't swim, these can save lives.
2. Air-tight baggies. Always keep a supply of air tight baggies for things that you
will need that cannot get wet or don't need to get wet. These will also help you
find the smaller, important items if the canoe flips over by placing a small amount
of air in the bag before you seal it. If your canoe flips over, these items will
float, making it easier for you to find them.
3. First aid kit. Kept in an air tight bag, a small first aid kid should contain:
band aids, gauze, tape, snake bit kit, neosporin, and any other necessities that you
might need on your trip. Make sure to put a little air in the bag when you seal it,
so it will float if needed!
4. Cell phone or GPS. These days, cell phones work wherever you are. So, make sure
to bring one along, with an extra, fully charged battery and keep these in air tight
baggies as well. Keep it with you at all times, so if there is an emergency, you
can call for help and know that it is on the way.
5. Clean water. This is a must. You don\'t know if you are going to find a fresh
water source or not, and you cannot trust the lakes and streams any more. If you
don\'t have the room for clean bottled water, you can find the water purifying
tablets at any camping store to carry with you. These are easy to use and work
great. Just make sure to keep them in an air tight bag too!
6. Small, snack foods. Granola bars, jerky, fruit snacks, and the like are all
small, easy to pack, and great boosts when you need them. Make sure that the snacks
you pack have plenty of carbs.
These are only a few of the necessities that you need to bring with you on your
canoe or camping trip. Just make sure that the things that cannot get wet don\'t,
and that you are prepared for any emergency that comes along. Of course, this
doesn\'t mean taking the whole house with you, but you should be able to take some
of the small things to help make your trip easier!
